Venture Capital Fraud Case Study
Is It Possible, NEA Venture Partner, ExploraMed Founder, Acclarent Co-Founder & Relieva Stratus Microflow Spacer Patent Holder, Josh Makower Got Arrested?

This is not conclusive evidence that an actual arrest occurred or will occur.
The tag: “Josh Makower Arrested” came through the site today, and that alone would not normally be enough to warrant further investigation. However, previous fact-based evidence coupled with the recent federal investigation into the NEA Partner’s, ExploraMed founder’s, medical device the Relieva Stratus Microflow Spacer where he’s a patent holder & also a Co-Founder of startup Acclarent where the device was sold, warrants further investigation into the tag Josh Makower Arrested.
Killing My Career has chronicled New Enterprise Associates (NEA) venture capital-funded, ExploraMed incubated, startup Acclarent procured by Johnson & Johnson and the fraud case in detail over the last year. More so after the arrest of Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon’s Acclarent CEO William (Bill) Facteau until November 2011 (now CEO of startup EarLens) and VP of Sales and Training Patrick (Pat) Fabian from August 2007-November 2011 (now COO of startup NxThera) were arrested on by The United States Department of Justice, April 9, 2015 on 18 counts of fraud in relation to the company’s medical device, the Relieva Stratus Microflow Spacer.

Prior to Facteau and Fabian’s arrest on April 9, 2015, this website on April 4, 2015, was tagged: Bill Facteau, Indictment, and trial, five full days before an arrest was made from Redwood City, California. Facteau resides in nearby Atherton, California and works in nearby Menlo Park, CA.
While the arrests were made April 9, 2015, the DOJ did not release the information publically until April 10, 2015
Yet, someone in the Palo Alto, California area tagged: “bill facteau indicted earlens john chang” before the federal indictment was made public. John Chang along with Josh Makower are the co-founders of Acclarent, and also patent holders for the federally investigated medical device the Relieva Stratus Microflow Spacer.
Again, this is not conclusive evidence that an actual arrest occurred or even will occur. Maybe someone was trolling the site, or perhaps it’s just someone interested in the case, or like previously, the site was tipped off ahead of time (likely by family, or perhaps even the accused) making it possible that Dr. Josh Makower will have a chance to tell the FDA what’s wrong with them, up close and person. Please check back for updates.
