American Photojournalist James Foley was abducted from Syria in November 2012; and, reported earlier this evening was murdered by Islamic State as an act of retribution for U.S. intervention in Iraq .  CPJ  The video released of the tragic event has not yet been confirmed by the U.S.  however his mother and CPJ have made statements:

From the Free James Foley Facebook page a note from his mother:

And while all the journalist exploit Furgeson, MO for rating and play “war correspondent,” Attention needs to shifts to a real war correspondent, James Foley.  As neither Officer Darren Wilson or shooting victim Michael Brown are heroes. And  if people in this country are going to cry execution-cry about this one:

We discuss how horrific the event is and yet move on without little thought; because, it doesn’t seem real or doesn’t impact us directly. It’s time we start being impacted by the world around us and start paying attention. Because this happened to one man, and not on U.S. soil should not make this any less real; and, yet it gets a mere mention in the evening news and Ferguson has been non-stop coverage . Do not hate me for posting this hate the people who did this.  Force Accountability from our goverment to take action to save American Photojournalist Steven Sotloff – it’s already too late for the 67 journalists who have died.   If you should decide to watch the link-you will not, nor should you forget this and what Mr. Foley and the 66 other journalists died for.

Please sign the petition to The White House to free the other American Journalist Steven Sotloff from ISIS in Syria
