Clippers No Go on the Team Logo in Silent Protest to Owner’s Racist Comments
Los Angeles Clipper’s staged a silent protest by turning their warm-up jerseys inside out expressing the disappointment from owner Donald Sterling’s alleged racist rant where he told a woman not to be photographed with black people or bring any to the Clipper’s game. Guess he only supports black people that make him millions. Sterling did not attend tonight’s game (yes taking accountability really isn’t in that playbook is it?)
Clipper’s President Andy Roeser issued a statement Saturday stated that he’d listened to the TMZ recording and his response:
“We do not know if it’s legitimate or if its been altered. We do not know that the woman on the tape-who we believe released it to TMZ-is the defendant in a lawsuit brought by the Sterling Family.”
If that were the case, Sterling would have been at the game and denouncing his involvement, wouldn’t you think?
The comments were reportedly made to model/and Donald Sterling’s girlfriend, V. Stiviano (who is African American) and confirmed the conversatin on TMZ is legitmate . Not to be confused with Donald Sterling’s wife (yes wife), Rochelle Sterling claims she’s not racist but clearly very tolerant. Money can’t buy you class but it clearly bought him a hall pass from his wife but not the rest of his life. Hey ladies I have a feeling he’s going to be single soon.
Go Clippers!
I didn’t start this campaign but I do agree with it. As long as the players aren’t punished for the actions of the owner.
The NAACP said Donald Sterling will not receive lifetime achievement award.
