UPDATED: Is Brodie Sinclair the Gay Porn Star? Gawker’s Jordan Sargent Agent of Retaliation
July 16, 2015 Updated below original Is Brodie Sinclair the Gay Porn Star?
Filed to: Unethical Journalist Jordan Sargent
The headline from Gawker this afternoon:
Here’s a quick overview: A married to a woman man in the publishing industry decided to cheat on his spouse with a gay porn star/escort. Unethical? Sure. Illegal? You bet. But the only way this story is known is that escort tried to blackmail the man in the publishing industry; and, when he refused to asquiesce to the demands the unnamed gay porn star/escort decided to enlist the help of Gawker to exact demeaning & insulting retaliation.
It’s inconsistent & contradictory for Gawker to use the name of the publishing executive and not to publish the name of the extortionist (who because of his reputation did not want his name published). Well that’s certainly inconsistent & contradictory.
There are varying degrees of victimization (in this story two people engaged in illegal activity) but no one victim should be dismissed without the right to seek justice. I do not agree with the illegal an unethical actions of the publishing executive; however, that does not mean that Gawker without shame, remorse or accountability can print the story without also forcing accountability and stating the extortionist’s name as well. At the end of the day the real victims are the publishing executive’s family who were likely demeaned and insulted first by a member of their own family and again by an extortionist who used an unethical media outlet to exact retaliation when his plan for extortion failed.
A few words to the two men at the center of this story: Don’t do stupid illegal shit. And now that the dick is out of the bag I hope the executive involves the FBI and the
extortionist (fixed that for you Gawker) Brodie Sinclair and his little buddy Jordan are forced accountable.
Jordan Sargent’s family must be sooooo proud. Head on over to Gawker and let them know in the comments section just how proud they should be of Jordan.
Photo 52/56 on that page (NSFW) is clearly the blurred out photo allegedly texted to the Conde Nast CFO. So assuming the escort sent the correct picture of himself–winner winner extortion dinner! (scroll below this picture if you want to see the side by side raw extortion NSFW)
“Let me ask you question,” Truitt said to TheDC during the phone interview. “Do you think the Geithner family (people he tried to extort) is an upstanding family? Do you think they’re honest people? You should do your research.”Asked why he chose to go to Gawker with the information about Geithner, Truitt said “it’s a long story.”
“Gawker — I feel they’re brave,” he said. “They have their own reasons to be brave. They go against anybody. As long as it’s the truth, they’ll get it out. Doesn’t matter what it is.” The Daily Caller
Except of course when the truth involves using his real name.
