Some stories we read have such an impact that it’s not necessary to know the people personally involved to want offer help, and this is one of those stories.
On June 10, 2014, Tom Craig a minister who has helped people and his community for the last 30 years was informed he has 6-12 months to live as he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Devastating news to Tom, his family, and all who know him, Tom has made it a priority to make the most of his remaining time and is actively serving and ministering to others.
Few would act so selflessly when faced with a similar prognosis. The people of Tom’s community of Oak Ridge, TN have created a campaign on the I Do It For Foundation: I Ride for Tom in efforts to raise $25,000 with 19 days remaining (currently at $22,786).
As a touching tribute to Tom Craig’s legacy the people of the community are also hosting a bike ride and cookout to September 6, 2014. They currently have cyclists in three different states and hope for even more support as word spreads. For more information about the ride please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org Click this link to donate to: I Ride For Tom and even if you’re not in the position to donate or ride please help bring awareness to pancreatic cancer and to Tom Craig’s legacy by reposting on social media. #IRideForTom
