Bar Marco Pittsburgh

Bar Marco, an upscale bar in Pittsburgh, PA made the decision to ban tipping in their establishment and instead will start their employees at $35,000 with health benefits.   Upside for patrons too-the bar won’t increase the prices.

“We saw 40 percent revenue growth last year, mainly because of [the employees], and they deserve to be recognized as the professionals they are and have opportunities to turn what they love into a respectable career with upside potential,” co-owner Bobby Fry told the Pittsburgh City Paper.

BUYcott: It’s great to see an employer recognizing and rewarding their employees. So if you live in the Pittsburgh area or passing through anytime soon be sure and show your support by spending some time (and money) at Bar Marco.
