Monica Lewinsky was Not “In Love” She was Abused by Bill Clinton

Monica Lewinsky Ted Talk : Playing victim for all the wrong reasons.  She was abused by her boss at work despite using the word “consensual”  (Bill Clinton was in a position of power over an employee) and her failure to recognize that fact but cling to the notion she was  “patient zero” for cyber bullying does not make her an advocate for victims or women but just fool who hasn’t learned anything despite time away and an education.

Monica Lewinsky announced yesterday that: “It’s her mission to end cyberbullying.” She dramatically referred to herself as “patient zero” meaning that she was the first person ever bullied on the internet because she was “in love’ with her boss (then President Bill Clinton) and feels that what she’s endured can help other victims.  She sounds a lot like someone else who talked about blowjobs on TV and referred to herself as the most hated woman on the internet.

She has to realize a few things, first she wasn’t “in love” with Bill Clinton, he abused her; and, the idea that she still fails to see that means she’s not living in the truth and really can’t help others until she’s willing to help herself. She’s quick to point out that she was a victim of gossip but still cannot see she was a victim abused by her employer.

“Having survived myself, what I want to do now is help other victims of the shame game survive, too,” she told the audience at Forbes’ 30 Under 30 summit. “I want to put my suffering to good use and give purpose to my past.”  Lewinsky’s speech comes on the same day that she joined Twitter, a move that is just the latest step in Lewinsky’s re-entry into public life. CNN

Monica Lewinsky has deluded herself into thinking this was a relationship and it was nothing more than abuse.  Or perhaps it’s a justification she feels necessary to help her cope. Either way it’s not healthy.  She states in Vanity Fair that she felt shame but you know who didn’t feel shame, remorse or guilt and when forced to take accountability demeaned and insulted her? Yep Bill Clinton.

Wait. You’re saying theirs was not a deeply meaningful relationship? Oh my. I have to think about this for awhile. You have to admit it was life-altering for them both, right? But…probably not in a good way.

Perhaps I’ve just gotten too cynical about politics, but I can’t help but suspect she surfaces at this particular moment as part of a carefully planned offensive by some well-heeled Hillary Haters.

Oh yes. I knew something was still ricocheting around in my brain. Robin Williams, I believe it was, once said something like: “How unlucky can one President get? He managed to find the one Jewish girl in the whole world who couldn’t get out a stain.” Yes, tasteless I know. Pun not intended.

Agree on all points. As a sidelight to your mention of her “new and refreshed” appearance: yes! Plus…notice how much she looks like the pictures from back in the day? Whoever is backing this ploy (if there is one) has certainly done their homework. They want to make sure she’s recognizable to the average Joe on the commuter train when her picture shows up below the fold. That way, the infamously short American citizenry memory is thoroughly refreshed.
